Bespoke learning packages that support strengths and address individual needs
Bespoke Learning Packages
At Searchlight Learning, our bespoke learning packages are shaped by a careful assessment of each young person’s academic, emotional and personal needs. Following this assessment, we work in partnership with the young person, their family, and commissioners to recommend the most appropriate combination of one-to-one tuition, therapeutic mentoring and counselling. Our flexible, person-centred approach supports neurodivergent learners and those with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs to reconnect with learning, build confidence and make meaningful progress.
Support is delivered through a joined-up approach, with tutors, mentors and counsellors working collaboratively within one service to provide consistent, holistic care. Together, they design and deliver personalised programmes tailored to each young person’s strengths, interests and goals. Provision may include academic tuition, therapeutic mentoring, counselling, learning in the community, outdoor experiences or creative activities, all working together ethically to promote wellbeing, engagement and long-term success both in learning and everyday life.
“They have prioritised the sense of safety and developed strong and secure relationships with him, regularly reflecting on how to work with his anxiety rather than against it. As a consequence, he looks forward to them coming each week and is slowly rebuilding his confidence after a tricky time in mainstream education.”

Working together ethically
At Searchlight Learning, our tutors, therapeutic mentors and counsellors work together within one service to provide joined-up support. Counselling remains a confidential space for young people, and information shared in sessions is not routinely passed on to others. With informed consent, counsellors may share general strategies that support learning and wellbeing, without disclosing personal details.
Confidentiality is only broken where there are safeguarding concerns or a risk of harm, in line with professional and legal responsibilities. This approach is explained clearly to young people and families from the outset, ensuring transparency, trust and confidence in the support we provide.
