We help young people build confidence and make informed career choices.
SEND Careers Advice
Through individualised support, we help young people explore their strengths, interests and aspirations, while developing a realistic understanding of education, training and employment options. Careers guidance is delivered by a fully qualified Careers Adviser in a supportive, accessible way, taking into account each young person’s learning profile, emotional needs and personal goals.
We work collaboratively with young people, families, schools and other professionals to ensure guidance is joined up and meaningful. Our aim is to empower young people to make informed decisions, build confidence in their abilities and take positive steps towards further education, training or employment at a pace that feels right for them.
“ I think you have been brilliant and will absolutely bear you in mind for the future – you might be hearing from me very soon!”

Working together ethically
At Searchlight Learning, our tutors, therapeutic mentors and counsellors work together within one service to provide joined-up support. Counselling remains a confidential space for young people, and information shared in sessions is not routinely passed on to others. With informed consent, counsellors may share general strategies that support learning and wellbeing, without disclosing personal details.
Confidentiality is only broken where there are safeguarding concerns or a risk of harm, in line with professional and legal responsibilities. This approach is explained clearly to young people and families from the outset, ensuring transparency, trust and confidence in the support we provide.
